Description of duties and responsibilities:
1. Will actively participate as a global team member with other Engineers, Designers, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Purchasing personnel to complete design projects quickly and cost effectively.
2. Coordinate project tasks and schedules, delegate work to designers or drafters and support staff as required.
3. Responsible for the design, prototyping, testing, specification and documentation of thermal processing systems, subassemblies and components. Responsible for the layout and detailed mechanical design and documentation of subsystems and subassemblies.
4. Drives projects involving new concepts and approaches to the design on new products.
5. Recommends materials and components for inclusion in design specifications based on past experience and on catalog reference data.
6. Will travel globally to solve technical problems with equipment in the field, provide technical expertise to the Sales organization, work with and develop suppliers, interact and direct engineering activities.
7. Strong understanding of Pro-Engineer and detail drawings /models applying large CAD Model assembly management skills.
8. Study industry standards and ensure that designs are safe and meet applicable industry safety requirements
9. Actively Participate in Design Reviews. Review designs with other Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing personnel as well as equipment users to ensure that designs meet all requirements.
10. Prepare and present written, oral visual material to support proposals, presentations, design reviews and written reports.
11. Develop cost estimates for proposed projects which include labor and material costs
12. Maintain project folders and report project status to Manager, Engineers and others on a regular basis.
13. Plan, perform or direct and document experiments to prove design performance
14. Strictly adhere to all BTU safety polices.
Skills and abilities needed for this position:
1. Excellent written and verbal Chinese and English skills.
2. Good technical writing and business presentation skills.
3. Good project management skills
4. Work experience with ProE or Creo is needed
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
6. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
7. Able to make decisions independently on engineering problems.
8. Able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently
9. Understanding of sheet metal and machined part fabrication practices and documentation standards
10. Strong ability to work with others and be an active part of a cross functional team.
11. Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills
12. Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and work to a schedule
13. Knowledge and experience on FEA
14. Knowledge and experience on DFM, FMEA, GD
